Accessibility work takes more than good intentions. We give your team the practice to do it right.

Practitioners have the questions. Disabled collaborators have answers from a lifetime of navigating inaccessible systems. Untapped Exchange is where that knowledge changes hands, and the work changes with it.

The Problem

Awareness isn't the gap. Capability is.

Most product teams already know accessibility matters. The guidelines are familiar. The audits get done. The workshops get attended.

But when it's time to actually sit across from a disabled person and ask what isn't working, people freeze. They drop the screening criteria. They rely on assumptions instead of conversations. They ship the same inaccessible product and tell themselves they'll do better next time.

It's the gap we built Untapped Exchange to close.

Practitioner“We figured most people would just tap through the session timeout.”
Lived-experience partner“I want to challenge that assumption.”
Lived-experience partner“This is what that decision does — the 90-second timeout logs me out halfway through the form, every single time.”
Practitioner“I didn't realize that's how it played out for you.”
Lived-experience partner“You couldn't have, from the outside. That's exactly why you ask me before you ship it, not after.”
A practitioner and a lived-experience partner in conversation.
What We Do

There are two ways to work with us. Both put your team alongside disabled collaborators doing real work. The right starting point depends on where you are today.

Coming Fall 2026

Ask Better Questions Cohort

A four-session cohort for UX researchers, designers, and product managers. Participants practice accessibility research in live sessions alongside disabled collaborators who are paid partners in every session, not guests. Teams bring active projects from their own organizations and work on them throughout.
The Untapped Outcome

You leave knowing how to conduct accessibility research yourself, and you've already practiced it on something real.

Book Now

Focused Feature Lab

A half or full day hands-on session where your product team sits side by side with disabled collaborators and experiences how real people use your product with assistive technology. We review your work ahead of time so the session goes straight to the real thing, and it scales across multiple product teams in a single day.
The Untapped Outcome

You leave having seen your product through a completely different lens, with a clear picture of where it works and where it doesn't.

Each works on its own, and there's no required order. Some teams start with the Lab when a product decision is already in front of them; others start with the Cohort to build the capability in-house. Many do both. The right entry point is wherever your team is today.

Who It's For

This is one practice, not four tracks. Designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers learn it side by side, on the same real project. Everyone leaves able to ask better questions of real disabled users — not just the people with "research" in their title.

What every role leaves with

The confidence to ask real disabled users better questions, directly, instead of guessing or delegating it away.

A truer picture of how people actually navigate, assistive technology included, but never limited to it.

The instinct to catch what blocks access early, while it's still cheap to change.

Shared language and evidence to prioritize access as real work, not a last-minute checkbox.

What each role brings to the room

Designers

The flows and decisions under question, and the eye to redesign them once they've heard the real problem.

Researchers

Rigor in how sessions are run, and a model the whole team can repeat without them in the room.

Engineers

How it's actually built, and a firsthand read on which fixes truly matter to real users.

Product Managers

The priorities and tradeoffs, and the standing to defend access on the roadmap.

Who We Are

The name is intentional. Disabled people carry expertise about navigating inaccessible systems that most product teams have never had access to. Product teams carry the ability to change those systems, if someone teaches them how to ask. Untapped Exchange is the structure that makes that transfer real.
